Basic Boating Knowledge - Power Open for Public Review under ANSI Process

As part of the new status as an ANSI ASD (American National Standards Institute Accredited Standards Developer), the Education Standards Panel has re-opened NASBLA 103-2015: Basic Boating Knowledge - Power for a 45 day Public Review process beginning November 30, 2014. Comments may be submitted via the EZ-ESP website on the final draft standard at this time.

Education Standards Panel to Meet in Bangor, Maine

The REVISED DRAFT of the standard, labeled NASBLA-101-20XX BASIC BOATING KNOWLEDGE - HUMAN PROPELLED, PADDLESPORTS, ETC., closed for public review on October 4, 2014. Twenty-five public comments were received and are now under consideration by the Education Standards Panel and are posted at links on the My Panels page. The REVISED DRAFT Standard and a document illustrating TRACKED REVISIONS to the Standard resulting from Panel disposition of comments submitted during the previous Call for Proposed Revisions Period are also posted at links on the MY PANELS page. The updated standard revision, based on Public Review comments, will be posted in the near future.

NASBLA-103-2015: Basic Boating Knowledge - Power

The National Boating Education Standards Panel is pleased to announce the availability of the revised standard: NASBLA-103-2015: Basic Boating Knowledge - Power. The standard, a revision of the 2012 standard now in use across the U.S., is posted for download on the EZ-ESP website. The standard will be submitted to the American National Standards Institute for public review and comment in the near future. Pending the outcome of that review, the recommended implementation date for the revised standard is January 2015 for course development or revision.

Additional information regarding the standard will be posted soon on www.nasbla.org and other websites. Questions should be directed to ESP staff at esp@nasbla.org.

The goal of this site is to make participation in the national boating education standards writing process as quick and painless as possible. This site will give you the ability to choose areas of interest and effortlessly become aware of what is happening in your chosen sectors.
